From milk to muffins, beans to bread or chutneys to cheese all manner of delicious local produce is sold in this friendly village shop.
Café
Enjoy a comforting warm drink and a freshly prepared light bite to eat whilst relaxing in our social cafe area, or takeaway to enjoy on the move.
Post Office
Providing essential services to our rural community beyond just post including banking services, bill payment, foreign currency, vehicle tax and online shopping returns/collections.
Community Hub
Whether to provide a meeting place for a scrabble club or to host community services such as Citizen’s Advice, Llandynog Shop puts community first. The hub also features a book swap and board game library for all to enjoy!
Re-opened and run by the community
Thanks to funding from UK Government Community Ownership Fund, Welsh Government Community Facilities Fund, Brenig Windfarm Community Benefit Fund, Llandyrnog Community Council and over 300 community share holders, the building which now also houses a Post Office and Community Hub, was purchased in February 2024. Following renovation it reopened to customers on 11 October 2024 and the rich tradition of local services for local people, started in 1841 by Samuel Fox, continues.
This remarkable achievement was only possible due to the commitment and spirit of local people who have generously volunteered their time and skills throughout the journey. To this day, Llandyrnog Shop thrives thanks to the many people who support it.

Whether it’s through a friendly chat with one of our shop assistants while returning a parcel, the comfort of catching up with a neighbour over coffee, or the sense of belonging that comes with putting on your apron to begin a volunteer shift, Llandyrnog Shop will provide you with a warm welcome and sense of community.
